Good stress management is as much a matter of faith as it is of self-discipline and gaining mastery over our bodies. Our life in God can protect us from much distress if we don’t make the mistake of thinking that the Christina life is supposed to be one hectic round of activity.
A life entrusted to God and lived in faith and dependence on Him can free us from restlessness. Jesus life was a model of unhurriedness. Jesus life was also a model of balanced priorities. Keeping Jesus model in mind, I strongly advocate that at least once every week we should sit down with pencil and paper and go over our priorities. Imagine that you are Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus. Write down on your list everything you’ve done or want to do. List your disappointments and unfulfilled dreams, your uncompleted projects and unrealized dreams.
Then prioritize your list for the next week. Ask, “What would Jesus want me to do first?”, “What would He want me to forget?”, “Who would He like me to forgive?”. Establish clear goals so that there is purpose to your life; dump the unnecessary disappointment or the criticism that comes from someone who doesn’t matter anyway. Receive from your Master the poise of a balanced, unhurried mind that knows the will of the father in all things, and you will begin to be free of distress.
I have actually learned all these things when I was invited to attend a prayer meeting from a group of Mormons. I felt great after hearing all those words from the book of Mormons. Now I have found where I could buy the book of Mormons. I am interested to get a copy of the book and of course the arts made by the mormon artists. I wish the book also includes the history of mormons. I understand that they are also Christian, but some of their beliefs differ from mainstream Christianity.

Hi Cai, I like it when you said list your priorities. I think I will have to do that, I mean I have been doing that before when I was still single, but when motherhood set in, I became too busy, and is still busy. I would really love to go back to doing that and be able to just sit down and "talk" to Jesus in a way that I know.
it is very common for us to experience stress especially when we are living in this wicked world where full of injustices. We all want to live peacefully and in order to do that we have to trust our God and throw all our anxieties upon him and let him take care of us and our needs. We need to have faith and tell ourselves that God will not allow us to be tested beyond what we can bear. :)
am back :D again! (ayaw pg sum-ud cai ha skong comment heheheh)
We all go through different kinds of trials in life and if we successfully pass through it, it'll give us incentives to become a strong individual but if we try to run away from our problems, it will hunt us forever and we may at times feel trap which drag our emotions down and it will not help us get up at all. Prayers and personal study of the bible will help us a lot and give us peace of mind
Thanks you so much Momi Jerla and Momi Pinx on your precious output. muahhh!
The life of Jesus is the life worth imitating. His walk is the walk I am taking and all other good publications that are worth reading are just second to The Bible. Yes, the Bible is the best book there is. It can inform and transform. I read a lot of books, including books from other Christian writers, but the Bible is my number 1 in the list.
Good post, Cai! It is very important to know what our priorities are and deal with them one at a time! :)
i'm back here cai! Mormons are great people! I know because i have friends who are. Ces in Texas is also one. :)
I am faithful but not religious. Being a daughter of a church minister, I grow up with the word of God. But since I came here in the US, I still have to go to church.... I do have Mormon friends and I admire their beliefs and church practices. And yea, they are Christians also.
one thing I love about this community are their physical church structures.. they've got awesome architecture. Good luck of this Cacai, need to figure mine too...hehehe
I am not a Mormon :-) but I am born Roman Catholic :-) Our connection with Jesus should have never end though sometimes I forget to pray and feel bad especially if I am too tired but HE is always in my mind and thanking HIM for everything HE bless to my family :-)
Back for my second round Sis Cai!...When I need guidance and peace of mind, I always turn to God and the Bible. I'm sure the Book of Mormons will be a good book to read too.
I just would like to say that I love this line in your post "A life entrusted to God and lived in faith and dependence on Him can free us from restlessness."... I am a Christ dependent, it works for me :)
I am back again Momi Cacai :-) I remember that Mormons are good looking guys :-) but we do not entertain them as we are Roman Catholics :-)
No one is not experiencing stress specially when problem arise then our stress level is really not good. Mormoms are good people...
Good post I am catholic too. it's good to know that whoever what religion we are as long as we believe in jesus christ we know how to pray and we well not forget the blessings everyday i surely say god is powerful. god bless you cacai.
This made me reflect on things that i need to prioritize and not and on what i should be thankful of. God and living my life the way He wants it is of course the priority. Thanks for sharing what you've learned sis, for i learned from it too.
nice to know that you are active in your venture to find Jesus, mommy. my husband welcomes Mormons on our house, but he cease the opportunity to defend our Roman Catholic faith in a gentle way with them. they're good people though, but we stick to our Trad-Con Roman Catholic Faith :D
i'm back here mommy. keep the faith and follow Jesus with all your heart, mind and soul..
for me whatever your religion is, as long as you believe in God that is all that matters.
