For this year, they will be celebrating Spring Festival on Februay 10, 2013. Do you know that they also have beliefs when celebrating or welcoming a New Year? Before the New Year comes, the Chinese people will have a thorough home cleaning because they believe that sweeping the floors on New Year’s Day; you might sweep away the year’s good fortune. As much as possible, every household must give an extra care of the things that can be broken like dishes, glasses, mirrors, to name a few because the sharp object of these things when it is broken will bring them an unlucky year. And if Filipinos are so noisy when celebrating a New Year, the Chinese people are the noisiest because for them, making noise make the bad omen go away, so the louder, the better.
