How was your 4th of July (or USA Independence Day/ Philippines-American Friendship Day) yesterday? I bet you had a great time. Mine was great. DH and I was just at home having a movie marathon. Then at night went outside to see fireworks display. Nope, we didn't went out to park where people were but a few walks outside here in the apartment complex. We didn't went to Almansor Park (where a lot of fireworks display fired from government here in the place I and DH resides) because of the crowd, my tummy could be bumped then aside from that the smell of the after-fired fireworks isn't good for me as being pregnant. That was why we just watched afar. Even with that, I still saw beautifully made fired fireworks! It was amazing! Colorful, soundly ones, flied-high and much more. Ah, what a celebration/commemoration of an Independence Day how many decades ago which USA got. Yesterday indeed is a national holiday which means no work or for private ones, triple pay for them if they work of such day. Meaning, it is merely a day of a precious and should be fun one. It's a happy thought and a happy celebration indeed! How was yours?

Dr. Jose Rizal's Day!
Dr. Jose Rizal
As a natural-born Filipina, I have to salute to our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. In Philippines' time (which it is 15 hours ahead during Pacific Standard Time, 16 hours when it is Pacific Daylight Time), today it is December 30, is the death of Philippines' National Hero--Dr. Jose Rizal. He was only 35 years old then. He was shot dead at Bagumbayan, Luneta (now Luneta Park in Manila, Philippines) after being a martyr of being a reformist of Philippines from the Spanish Colonial hands. This man is a remarkable one. He was a multilingual person of at least ten language he knew. He cured his blind mother as a doctor. He had a lot of remarkable deeds and a great personality. Aside from linguistic, he was also a poet, essayist, novelist, correspondent, and diarist. His remarkable novel "El Filibusterismo", and "Noli Me Tangere" were widely known. So to Filipinos, Happy Rizal Day!(Special thanks to wikipedia of the photo)

Happy Columbus Day!
Happy Columbus Day to the folks in United States in America. Today October 12(actually every second Monday of October every year), is the Columbus Day. I do not know why this has been celebrated and how to celebrate this day except that it's just a happy day since my husband don't have a work (~_~). Well, it was being declared as a legal holiday so it's alright. According to the history, Christopher Columbus is the discoverer of the Americas. More of my info is from Wikipedia. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving as well to the people of Canada. Cheers!

Did you start grilling in there already? (~_~) and happy sunshine as well. The sun is freaking hot and humid here in California. Ooh well it's summer so we have to expect like this especially here in California. Once again, have a fun Labor Day celebration!

4th of July
In Daylight Standard Time(DST) it's still July 4 today but for Eastern Time(ET) it's July 5 already and firecrackers everywhere at my place now. Hubby and me decided to stay at home for this Independence Day. At day time lately, I haven't heard lots of firecrackers but this time it's a lot! and because I like an open window I can hear it as if am outside and wow! the smell are so so.. hahah.. but it's a celebration so I embrace it rather than gun firing, and other ways of shots to celebrate this important occasion of United States of America. It's indeed a joyful day and the moon is shining at the sky--it also commemorating this day. Happy Independence Day America!
