Fix Your Skin

Most of us begin life with normal skin. Through the years, the environment, what we eat and drink, hormones, and other factors contribute to changes and challenges. There are three types of skin: dry, oily, and combination.

Dry
Dry skin has a fine texture with small pores. It often feels “tight’ and is prone to broken capillaries. Dry skin should be kept away from weather extremes, especially harsh winds.

Oily
With oily skin, the pores of the skin are large and visible. The oil is especially prominent on the nose, forehead, and chin. It is prone to blemishes and blackheads. Although it seems logical to get at these eruptions with aggressive products, this makes oily skin even worse.

Combination
This is actually two skin types on one face. Skin is usually oily in the T zone of the face (nose, forehead, and chin) while dry elsewhere. Don’t be overly aggressive with the oily area and neglect the dry spots. Use powdered milk to wash and exfoliate, use lemon toner only in the T zone, then concentrate moisturizing to the dry zones.

MakeUp to Enhance Beauty

It's true that our appearance tends to dictate our mood levels and how we deal with the struggles of the day. That's why there's so many weight-loss advertisements and skin care creams. People care about how they look, and while it may seem shallow, it's amazing how even a simple change can elevate one's level of self confidence.

Make-up is an excellent way to both heighten and dial down the appearance of certain features. If you're not crazy about the appearance of bright colors and bold lines, you can use makeup to enhance your natural features without going overboard. Therefore, one shouldn't be hesitant about using makeup regularly, because you don't have to slop it on.

Conversely, it's also delightful to get fanciful with your color palette. You can attract intense attention to your eyes with a rainbow of contrasting shadows, and there are so many distinctive looks you can experiment with until you find the one that matches your own personality.

There is also an abundance of choices when it comes to actually purchasing your make-up. It's important to take note of what's really going into your products. For instance, some are tested on animals while others are not, and some products may contain ingredients that aren't compatible with your skin.

In addition to traditional foundations and powders, you can also buy airbrush makeup which you actually blow onto your face for even, silken coverage. It creates a very Hollywood look that will manage to stay in place through a full day of play.

Style

What exactly is style?

Although it means different things to different people, and it would take forever to debate what makes a person stylish, it comes down to what suits you. It is the look of confidence that shines through your clothing.

Everyone should have a style that’s all their own. Yes, it is important to stay up-to-date on what is trendy. Then take those trends and adapt them to your own style. Never do the reverse. If you already have a style that’s not sending out the right message, don’t be afraid to change it. Just go for it. Change the way you look and see what the response is. Once you find a look that really works well for you, keep it. Use it from morning through evening with slight modifications. I got my look “right” after years of trial and error, I guess. Ha ha. I am a casual person, and when I tempted to stray from that look, I always ended up looking overdone. It made me feel uncomfortable. My new look is less time-consuming and is a style that I can use even at the most formal occasion.

Mix and Match Basics To Look Glamorous All-Year Round

Looking good is always affected by the outfit that you’re wearing. Don’t confuse it with wearing expensive clothes because it is totally a different story. You don’t have to take fashion short-courses in order to pull off that glamorous outfit.

Everything can be learned, all you have to do is be observant. Make yourself aware of the colors that looks good when combined, as well as those that don't. Familiarize yourself with the color wheel and choose colors that belong on the same group. If you can master the mix and match basics, then it’s a guarantee that you would be wearing an outfit that isn’t going to be eye straining.

You don’t have to buy the entire outfit in one store. Learn to hop from one place or store to another and compare prices. Sometimes sidewalk boutiques got the widest selections in town. These are also the type of stores wherein you can bargain for prices if you’re going to buy a lot.

Look Beyond the Label

Do you have a favorite place to shop? When you shop, do you have time to read the label? I guess, we should not overlook this very important note on each product to avoid allergens. Natural and organic labels are everywhere on personal care products, from face cleaners to face masks and everything in between. But the labels may not tell the whole story. Products that are used in natural skin care usually include botanical extracts and essential oils, but that doesn’t mean all the ingredients are natural.

Products that are labeled as hypoallergenic may still cause allergic reactions. Labels such as hypoallergenic and allergy tested are up to the manufacturer’s discretion and don’t have to meet specific regulatory criteria. It’s up to consumers to determine what’s really hypoallergenic. Finding the perfect products may take trial and error. If you have a particular concern, such as reddish or very sensitive skin, go to the doctor or dermatologist though most of the time this information is available on the Websites, providing recommendations based on skin type. But you know, it is still best to consult your dermatologist if you have doubt on it.

And so, have a great day everyone! Thanks for dropping-by, come back often. :)

When Taking Care of Yourself

The move to look more beautiful of using more natural personal care products has grown in leaps and bounds recently, giving conscientious consumers more products to choose from. From natural to organic, there is a lot to consider when selecting products for a daily regimen. In addition, don’t forget trying to avoid excess or inefficient product packaging. It is possible to choose products that are not harmful to the environment, to any places or so and still bring out your natural beauty.

If you are interested in more environmentally friendly lotions, shampoos, makeup, and soap, you may want to look at the chemicals in the products you use every day. Read the fine print on the labels. When it comes to soap, go mild. Strong soaps can remove natural moisturizers. Don’t go for dark hair dyes. They may contain coal tar ingredients. And avoid baby powder for it is not healthy for babies to breath.

The Perfect Lash

Your eyes should be the focal point of your makeup. They are the first feature to be noticed than any other areas or places of a person’s face. The general rule of color: The darker the eye, the deeper the eye product. Darker skin tends to absorb color. Use rich eye colors like gold, deep grays, violet, copper, navy and browns. Light-eyed beauties should select light grays, ginger, khaki, and specific blues.

To achieve a simple polish look for eyes, choose three similar shades from lash lines to brow. First, apply the lightest shade from lash line to brow. Second, apply a medium shade from lash line to just above crease, and then use an eyeliner brush with a dark shadow to line around the lash line. And the final touch to your eye makeup is the lash. Try to always use an eyelash curler. It will make your eyes look wider, more alert, and more youthful. It is like an instant eye lift. Always curl lashes before applying mascara. Give upper lashes a second coat of mascara, concentrating on the tips by stroking the brush horizontally across the lash. Never wait when applying second coat of mascara to lashes. Mascara, especially waterproof mascara, dries quickly and can clump. Mascara now offers so much more than just color. Look for these features when choosing a mascara.

Have fun beautifying, looking great and gorgeous. Have a great day!

Tips for Using Sunscreens

Here are some tips for getting the most benefit from sunscreen products:

1. Apply the product liberally over all exposed areas of your body. Don’t forget your ears, the back of your neck and, if you are balding, the top of your head.

2. Use a sunscreen even on cloudy or hazy days.

3. Encourage children to use a sunscreen each time they go outside. The cumulative effects of unprotected sun exposure over many years weaken the skin’s elasticity, leading to sagging cheeks, deeper facial wrinkles and skin discoloration later in life.

4. Always use a sunscreen if you have sensitive skin, suffer allergic reactions to the sun, or are exposed to the sun on a regular basis.

5. Apply makeup over a sunscreen. Sunscreens used under makeup are still effective.

5. If possible, try to avoid being exposed to the sun, especially when the sun’s rays are most intense.

Finally, remember that hats and other clothing protect best against the sun. But of course, you don't need to cover your body with thick clothes like its winter so the sun won't hit your skin, just wear proper clothing, or please use sunscreen (in case you want to have sun tanning).

Lucky Colors For 2013

Now that the new year finally started (it was actually four months ago), it just normal for people to dig on what would be the best activities to do in order to reap all the luck that 2013 has to offer. Some would be subscribing horoscope readings, visit fortune tellers and listen to astronomically-based pieces of advice.

For those who are in the fashion industry, they rely mostly on the lucky colors as the bases of their creation. Some designers are religiously following it every year and strongly believe that these things could influence their sales.

Get that glow

Expert says, take time to breathe and relax for at least 20 minutes daily to lower your stress level. Scientifically proven to lower blood pressure, this routine can come in the form of a prayer moment, listening to music or reading, but not on your friend’s Facebook wall. They might post in their wall about their bad day, and you may be affected on it.

Most people when obsessed with stress, they like to eat more. No worries about calories when you eat these veggies such as cabbage, celery, cauliflower, tomatoes, radish, eggplant, broccoli, asparagus and mushrooms. They are rich in fiber and help you forget about your cravings.

Living in a busy environment causes a number of stress-related diseases. It makes you crave for more calories like chocolates and makes you more likely to gain pounds. Tension naturally changes the normal reaction of hormones that affects your appetite. Shift your mind as much as possible to good things instead. A thankful attitude can surely make your stress go away.

Miss Universe Beauty Pageant 2012

Five days ago, virtual friends were shouting on their wall at Facebook about the Miss. Universe Beauty Pageant 2012 which was held in Las Vegas. I actually couldn't concentrate on watching the coronation night for I have my little princess beside me, and she was trying to get my attention. Well, she doesn't understand yet that I wanted to watch the whole show, so every time she talked to me on her own words that only mothers could understand, I had to respond to her, otherwise; she will cry as if she was ignored.

Anyway, my friends on Facebook were kept on updating every part of the contest. Just like other countries, we, Filipinos, were wishing that our very own candidate Miss. Janine Tugonon will bring the crown to the Philippines. Anyhow, Miss. Philippines Janine Tugonon was crowned as 1st runner up, and Miss USA won the title as Miss Universe 2012. Congratulations to Miss Philippines-Universe 1st runner-up Janine Tugonon and Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, as Miss Universe 2012. The Filipinos and Americans are very proud of you guys. Way to go! :)

Attractive Pendant Lighting

During the olden times, when beautiful lighting is not yet existed, most homes used only an ordinary light to light their homes at night. In this day and age, of technological advancements, beautiful and well-designed lightings could be found either online or at the local store in your place.

Brought about by the needs of modern individuals, lighting manufacturers never stopped producing more beautiful and elegant lighting design. Just like this quoizel pendant lighting that I have found online, it is so beautiful, and it will certainly make your home more attractive if you have this hanging to your living room, patio or wherever you like.

I found it at Valley Lighting and Home Décor. For some that they have been looking for lighting, they might like to consider checking it. Aside from lighting, you could also find beautiful ornaments for the Christmas holiday. For home decorating ideas, you could also find high-quality antique design that is perfect for your style, rugs that could add life to your beautiful floor regardless of the floor types, and more. Valley Lighting and Home Décor is all you need when you shop for lighting and home décor.

Enjoy shopping then! :)

LV Purses Anyone?

LV or Louis Vuitton purses are so well-known in the name of fashionable bags. If you have LV then you are considered as rich individual, but is that true? In my own views having LV doesn’t mean you own the world of budget! What I mean is that, LV for me is very fashionable and up to date and if given a chance I would love to have my own Louis Vuitton too, who doesn’t? Right? Well, I have friends who owned this kind of of luxury and I am happy for them. Atleast they have the budget to buy and give themselves some gifts. Some are from their husband and I can tell that they are lucky to have a rich partner. Giving gifts is always fun, specially from your hubby! Hmmm… hubby did you read this post? Just kidding… Well..well.. Louis Vuitton is popular and if you can afford to buy then good for you. You can have it forever and pretty sure for the durability and of the course the name itself!

My Take on: Dermagist Eye Precision System

I am a person who don't put much pressure on my face when it comes to beauty regimen as long as I have wash it and done. I just came to realize that I put much work in my eyes specifically its circles and eye bags. The dark circles on it as well as the puffiness. I know it is a result of fatigue. When I was in college, I used to morning the night when exams nearing and usually I went to bed late because I have to study and some chores. Alright, such problems in my eyes (dark circles/puffiness/eye bags) can't be undone. And I need to recover the beauty once it has in it. I am already above the age of 30, so it is already okay to put something on my face (my old folks used to tell me to not put something on my face when I won't turn 30 yet, or better not put ever. Obviously I use that previous one) to enhance or get rid of something.

A while months ago, I tried once a serum and I like it. Only to find out, somebody lost it in July when I was in the hospital (yes, I brought it there) to attend my child who was hospitalized. It was a little bit of trauma to  me because it means much to me (my first). Good thing, one person emailed me if I like to review one of their beauty products. Yes, Nicole of Dermagist contacted me to review one of their products, of my choice. And guess what I choose? Yes, The Eye Precision System! I love the adage "when something's lost, something's come in" to which it applies the situation. Great, isn't it? *smile*

And the verdict is, the effect is great. I use it only when I feel like it and it don't bother my skin at all. But of course, we have different skin and feel of it. Dermagist process of taking off the eye bags or dark circles as well as the puffiness and alike may applied to you. Only you can decide that for yourself. As for me, I like it!

Bebe Sandal and Jumpsuit

My first time to buy Bebe brand. If it's not because of my cousin who happened (I so much thankful that she was here with me) to visit my child when she was in the hospital two months ago, I was not able to buy such pair of Bebe summer get-up. The plan was to go to the beach just to look and some stroll with our other friend from Laguna Niguel. So a day before such, she went shopping because she wants to buy something to pair with her get-up and so I went up to accompany her. And so I don't have any plan to buy something. Whilst I waited of her, I sat in the Bebe Store aisle and just play with my phone. When suddenly she went unto my side and said I should have to buy something because it is 60% discount and she still has more discount because she is a Bebe member. You know, Bebe stuffs are expensive. And I said no at first. Then she kept on telling and encouraging me. After how many trying times to tell me, I gave up and tried few in the fitting room, yes in the same place.

I then ended up bought the blue jumpsuit and a silver flat which costs me 60 - 80 bucks plus. Grrr.. hehe.. but I think it is worth it, the quality of clothing and the sandal is great. After all, I am still happy regardless of the price. :-)

Let’s Talk About Shoes

Call me vain but one of the latest things I’ve been crazy about is collecting shoes. You bet! From tory burch flats to the latest high heels displayed in the shoe shops, once my eyes caught sight of them they just get glued for quite some time and if I’m lucky enough to have extra money for them, I get to give in to this vanity. No, I am not trying to land a record in the Guinness Book of Records for having the most number of a pair of shoes; it’s just that I just want to look my best every time I go out because I believe that looking best starts from the shoes I wear.

The advantage of having a number of pair of footwear is that you get to choose which fits the outfit you wear. For women like us, it is not being finicky when we coordinate the color of our shoes to the color of the dress we are wearing. It is just being proper. Another thing is that, having different pairs to wear each day of the week saves our shoes from being worn out easily thus saving us some money too.

Quality shoes, makes a big difference!

A Dress Review On-Hold

I have a green dress for review on-hold. It was being given as a sample from a company to review. What I did was pick one of their dresses and review it afterwards of how I like it, of how great it is from the picture of the website to the actual. Okay, I like the dress. The thing is I am waiting of someone to take a pic of me. I don't rely of my self to take a pic. I like other person to take for me. Ha! Alright, a friend of mine promised me to be here and will be the one to do it. I am just kind of a little guilty because it kept putting it off to which I did intend to.

I like dresses. So, when opportunity like this knocks on my way, I won't let it pass especially if it's from a cool company. :)

Until then, I can review the dress with a picture. It is a whole dress by the way, a kind of retro which goes back its style nowadays. And so, until then. :-)

Hmmm.. I am not pretty sure if having sleepless nights, is normal. I might call it insomnia. This is very common to those individual who worries a lot, who thinks a lot during night. I have several friends who are complaining about this disturbances. Sometimes it happened to me too, but not that much as before. Now, I am easily feel sleepy besides my angel. So it is not much problem for me. But maybe for those who are still struggling with this, try to minimize your worries and try to be calm, specially at night! Lady Soma Beauty Stuffs

I just want you to know that I am not a woman who is fond of putting-up stuffs on my face. Just a simple lipstick/lip gloss, powder, moisturizer when necessary and I am done. Ooh well, I am not a working-lady but a homemaker. But who says, only working women has the right to be beautiful in the eyes of the public? Ha! Not me, apparently :-) But I like to be simple with sophistication. So that's me. Alright, I am no fond of facial stuffs, I had not even came into facial spa in the parlor or so. I am in my 30+ (below 35) age as of now and I have to admit I am in the stage that I have to take care of my skin and I think I am in the right to pamper it like I am in the spa even I am just in the house doing it. I have to tell you that I am very picky of putting something on my face, I don't like thinking of damaging it off and became like an old woman older than my age. Then later will spend more than what I put into it. Better not.

Okay, two days before my 30+ birthday (yes, this year) which is two days after the company (based in New York City place) mailed to one of the cities of Los Angeles County (where I live), I received products from Lady Soma. It seems a sample but I request (out of curiosity) to have it in exchange for an honest review. If I don't like it, no review rather than giving a negative one. I am not a rude person/blogger so I ought to be I am. Smile. :-) True enough, Stergios, the Operations and Technology Manager whom I communicated with is amazing on his service. She mailed it priority and with an extra lip gloss (which I so like too). You bet, I am writing this because I love the products. By the way, I choose to have the Lady Soma Full Body Kit products-into-1 which is the most expensive kit of all the Lady Soma products and I was not wrong of choosing it. All of the products I tried are doing its job. I tried it all and continue using it. I like most the Renewal Serum because I can use it everyday and better than my face moisturizer (even my sunblock moisturizer). My face looks pinkish naturally and the tone is so smooth and clear but not to the point that it's obviously I am putting something on it. It provides natural-glow. I am loving it much! I also like the Antioxidant Berry Masque and the Skin & Nail Treatment. The latter is great after using the Antioxidant Berry Masque, it's so soft. I put the antioxidant whenever I like, maximum of two times a week. It seems like I have a facial spa. In just few minutes (there's an instruction on it) after putting the antioxidants all over my face (of course I have to tie my hair and cover it with shower cap (the shower cap is optional if I don't like putting it on, as long as I tie my hair) and I am done. Then put the serum on. After that, the Skin & Nail Treatment (this one is essential after putting the antioxidants, alright after the washing time, but a lotion could do the thing if you're used with putting your favorite lotion after washing). And I am done of my facial treatment! Easy and great feeling! Whew! So cool.

All in all, I love Lady Soma, the Made in USA products!
